Explore the pathway to becoming a Registered Equine Practitioner

How do I become a PRactitioner?

The criteria for the ConTact C.A.R.E Equine Practitioner Qualification is as follows:

  • 4 Foundation levels courses, or the equivalent of 64 hours foundation level training in either equine, human or combination courses.

  • A Foundation level assessment. 

  • 80 hours of recorded practical work.  

Once foundation level training has been completed. The student practitioner continues onto the following, and certification of the full Equine Practitioner qualification:

  • 4 Practitioner Level courses

  • 1 Practitioner skills weekend

  • 120 hours of recorded practical on top of the 80hrs of foundation practical, total of 200 hours. 

  • 3 case studies

  • Anatomy and Physiology- Equine 

  • 1 peer review from a qualified Equine ConTact C.A.R.E Practitioner.

  •  Foundation Instructor evaluation from a qualified Equine ConTact C.A.R.E Instructor.

  • 2 successful assessments from Camille Nelson and Dale Speedy.

The completion of Anatomy and Physiology- Equine is undertaken by the student under their own initiative, prior learning or industry experience credits are available.
